I'll admit it: I'm a designer and photographer manqué — good thing I have legitimate artists on my team!
I also love to curate. Here's a smattering of spare-time doodling that reveals a little bit more about me and what I love: my family homes in Toronto and French River, Ontario and Pescaglia, Tuscany, music (I've got 1,500 pieces of vinyl), art (thankfully, not created by me) and, above all, the people who are most important to me. It's a pretty charmed life; I'm very lucky.

Almost...
Given my love of vinyl, this was going to be the home image on this site. Then my branding brain got the better of me and I decided that, you know, since I'm not a music site, it was best left here. Made it myself (and that's my uncle Stan in the photo).
My Kid & Theirs
M and Z have been great pals since they were three. Hope it stays strong as the years go by. Z moved to NYC for a while; M’s missing her buddy.
The Hubs (a.k.a. "The Smoker") by Kim Dorland
I'm not screaming man-crush or anything, but Kim's wife Lori and I have our theories about why he painted so many renditions of my hubs. We'll take it! It's not every day that a world-class artist captures one's likeness. This, and part of a series that was shown at the McMichael Gallery in Kleinburg, Ont., alongside Tom Thomson, was painted at our cottage on the French River.
DB is for DD
During the David Bowie Is exhibit in Toronto, the hubs made this for me after the show.

Lennon
I was a late-adopter to the whole NYC visit thing. But upon my first visit, a handful of years ago, I sobbed at Strawberry Fields and while taking in this view of The Dakota.

An Idol
Professor Ian Balfour, who was married to his wife by none other than Northrop Frye (swoon), was a huge influence on me when I did my undergrad (and grad) at York in English. He fuelled my desire to devour anything and everything about the Romantics.
Tuscan Hills
Gotta love how they change so quickly. Beautiful. This is the view from our third floor in Pescaglia.
Misty Mountain Hop
Tuscan beauty.
Bye Bye Pescaglia
Leaving the village after a beautiful spring visit.
